Solar Panel Price in Gujarat (Oct 2026): Per Watt, Per kW & After Subsidy

Solar panel price in Gujarat 2026 guide banner

Quick answer: In October 2026, a subsidy-eligible (DCR) rooftop solar system in Gujarat costs about ₹46,000–62,000 per kW installed. That is ₹55,000–62,000 for 1 kW and ₹1.50–1.71 lakh for 3 kW before subsidy. After the ₹30,000–78,000 PM Surya Ghar subsidy, a 3 kW system costs about ₹72,000–93,000. A single DCR panel costs ₹25–32 per watt.

All prices in this guide are indicative, as of October 2026, for on-grid systems with made-in-India (DCR) panels, a standard elevated GI structure and installation in Gujarat. They come from current market data (see Sources) and ASV’s own quotes. Your exact price depends on your roof, the brands you choose and your DISCOM, so treat this as a budget guide, not a quote.

Small homes can pay even less. From 22 October 2026, Gujarat adds its own subsidy on top of PM Surya Ghar for systems up to 2.18 kWp installed through your DISCOM or its approved agency. You pay only 10% of the benchmark cost (5% for SC/ST families), which is about ₹5,000 for 1 kW and ₹10,000 for 2 kW. The rules are explained in our Gujarat solar subsidy guide.

Solar plate price per watt: DCR vs non-DCR, TOPCon vs mono PERC

“Solar plate” is the everyday word for a solar panel. Panels are priced per watt (₹/W), so a 620 W panel at ₹27/W costs about ₹16,700. The biggest price difference is not the brand. It is whether the panel is DCR (made in India with Indian cells) or non-DCR.

Panel typeRetail price (incl. GST)One 620 W panelSubsidy eligible?
DCR TOPCon (N-type)₹25–32 per W₹15,500–19,840Yes
DCR mono PERC₹23–27 per WMostly sold in 540–575 W sizesYes
Non-DCR TOPCon or mono PERC₹18–24 per W₹11,160–14,880No
Indicative retail ranges, October 2026. Ex-factory prices are lower: about ₹22 per W for DCR TOPCon and ₹14 per W for non-DCR (JMK Research, April 2026).
  • Why DCR costs more: India makes far fewer solar cells than modules, so Indian-cell panels carry a premium of roughly ₹5–10 per watt, or ₹5,000–10,000 per kW.
  • Why it matters: PM Surya Ghar pays subsidy only if every panel is DCR. One non-DCR panel makes the whole system ineligible. For a 3 kW home, the ₹78,000 subsidy is far bigger than the DCR premium, so DCR is the right choice.
  • TOPCon vs mono PERC: TOPCon is the newer cell type. It gives a little more output per panel and in hot weather, and most 2026 rooftop panels are TOPCon. Bifacial panels (which also catch reflected light from the back) cost slightly more and help most on elevated structures over a light-coloured roof.

Adani, Waaree and other panel brands ASV installs

Searches for “Adani solar panel price” and “Waaree solar panel price” are common in Gujarat. All the main Indian brands sell DCR TOPCon panels in a similar price band, so the brand changes your price by a few hundred rupees per panel, not thousands. The bigger differences are wattage, warranty and the dealer’s margin.

Illustrative bill of materials, October 2026. A higher structure, a premium inverter or a long cable run raises the price.

Inverter and structure prices

  • On-grid inverter: about ₹28,000–38,000 for a mid-range 3 kW model and ₹42,000–58,000 for 5 kW (distributor prices before GST, October 2026). ASV mostly uses Sungrow, Solis, Goodwe, Sofar and Solaryaan.
  • Structure: about ₹6,000–10,000 per kW. A raised structure that lets you use the terrace below costs more than a low one.
  • Batteries: not needed for an on-grid system with net metering. Off-grid or hybrid systems with batteries cost much more per kW.

GST on solar panels in 2026

GST on solar panels and solar power systems has been 5% since 22 September 2025 (it was 12% before). Most installers quote a GST-inclusive price for the full system. Some services billed separately can attract 18%, so check that your quote says “inclusive of GST” and lists what is included.

Payback in Gujarat: Torrent Power vs UGVCL and other state DISCOMs

Your saving per unit depends on your DISCOM’s tariff. For homes, GERC kept FY 2026-27 slab rates unchanged:

  • UGVCL, MGVCL, DGVCL, PGVCL: ₹3.05 (0–50 units), ₹3.50 (51–100), ₹4.15 (101–250) and ₹5.20 per unit above 250. A fuel surcharge (FPPAS) of ₹2.45 per unit plus a 3.99% variable charge applies from 1 July 2026.
  • Torrent Power (Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar): ₹3.20 (0–50 units), ₹3.95 (51–200) and ₹5.00 per unit above 200, plus Torrent’s own FPPAS shown on your bill. Living in Ahmedabad? See our solar company in Ahmedabad page for local projects and Torrent net metering.

Example (UGVCL): a home using 450 units a month installs the 3.1 kWp system above, which makes about 388 units a month. Energy charges plus FPPAS fall by about ₹2,750 a month, or about ₹2,860 with the 3.99% charge. That is about ₹7.36 per unit saved. For a Torrent home, the energy-charge saving alone is about ₹4.63 per unit; add the FPPAS rate printed on your bill.

Average saving per unitYearly saving (4,650 units)Payback on ₹88,200

Why two solar quotes in Gujarat can differ by ₹30,000

  1. DCR or not: a cheap quote may use non-DCR panels, which lose the subsidy.
  2. Actual kWp: “3 kW” can mean five 620 W panels (3.1 kWp) or six 540 W panels (3.24 kWp). Compare the price per kWp.
  3. Structure height and steel: a low, thin structure is cheaper but rusts and blocks the terrace.
  4. Inverter brand and warranty: budget inverters cost less but may have weaker service.
  5. Earthing and protection: three proper earthing pits and a lightning arrester are often cut from low quotes.
  6. Paperwork and service: PM Surya Ghar requires 5 years of free maintenance from the vendor. Check it is in writing.

Single solar plate price (12V panels for lights, fans and batteries)

Many people searching “solar plate price” want one small panel, not a rooftop system. These 12V panels charge a battery for lights, a fan or a small inverter. They are sold at hardware and electrical shops, and they do not get the PM Surya Ghar subsidy.

Panel size (12V)Indicative priceTypical use
10–20 W₹800–2,000Garden or LED light
40–50 W₹2,000–4,000Lights and phone charging
100 W₹4,000–8,000Small battery, lights and fan
150–200 W₹7,000–15,000Inverter battery top-up
Indicative, October 2026 (Bajaj Finserv). ASV does not sell single 12V panels; we install grid-connected systems from 1 kW upwards.

Factories and commercial buildings

Commercial and industrial systems get no subsidy, but the price per kW falls as size grows, and GIDC tariffs are higher, so payback is still fast. See our industrial solar installation cost per kW guide, the industrial solar ROI calculator, and the 1 MW solar plant cost guide. Net-metering projects commissioned after 31 December 2026 must also use ALMM List-II (Indian) cells unless the rules change again, which will narrow the non-DCR price gap.

Frequently asked questions

What is the solar plate price in Gujarat in 2026?

A rooftop solar panel (solar plate) costs about ₹25–32 per watt for subsidy-eligible DCR TOPCon panels and ₹18–24 per watt for non-DCR panels, including GST (indicative, October 2026). A 620 W DCR panel is about ₹15,500–19,840. Small 12V panels cost ₹4,000–8,000 for 100 W.

What is the 1 kW solar panel price in Gujarat?

A 1 kW on-grid rooftop system with DCR panels costs about ₹55,000–62,000 installed. After the ₹30,000 PM Surya Ghar subsidy you pay about ₹25,000–32,000. If you qualify for Gujarat’s extra subsidy for systems up to 2.18 kWp, you may pay only about ₹5,000.

How much does a 3 kW solar system cost in Gujarat after subsidy?

About ₹1.50–1.71 lakh before subsidy and ₹72,000–93,000 after the ₹78,000 subsidy (indicative, October 2026). It makes about 375 units a month.

What is the Adani solar panel price?

Adani DCR TOPCon panels of 610–640 W are quoted at about ₹23–25 per watt before GST by dealers in October 2026, so roughly ₹14,000–16,000 per panel before GST. Prices change monthly, so ask for a dated quote.

Is Waaree or Adani cheaper?

Both sell DCR TOPCon panels in a similar price band. The difference is usually a few hundred rupees per panel. Compare wattage, warranty and the full system quote rather than the panel brand alone.

What is the GST on solar panels?

5% since 22 September 2025 for solar panels and solar power systems. Some separately billed services can attract 18%, so ask for a GST-inclusive quote.

Why are DCR panels more expensive?

DCR panels use Indian-made cells, which are in short supply. They cost about ₹5–10 per watt more, but only DCR panels qualify for the PM Surya Ghar subsidy of up to ₹78,000.

What is the solar panel installation cost per kW?

For homes, about ₹46,000–62,000 per kW installed in October 2026, falling as system size grows. This includes panels, inverter, structure, wiring, installation and net-meter paperwork.

How long is the payback on home solar in Gujarat?

Usually 2.5–3.5 years after subsidy for a home that uses most of its solar units, depending on your DISCOM tariff and usage. A UGVCL example in this guide pays back in about 2.6 years.

Can I get EMI for rooftop solar?

Yes. Under PM Surya Ghar, banks offer collateral-free loans of up to ₹2 lakh at about 7% for systems up to 3 kW. ASV also works with solar finance partners.
